Open Unix 8 and Sco 5.0.5. NFS

I have a build server running 5.0.5 that was mounting an NFS server also running 5.0.5 and doing software builds in 8 minutes. I recently changed the NFS server to run Open Unix 8 and now have the 5.0.5 build server mounting it.The builds now take 35 minutes. Any ideas what is causing the slowdown ? The new Open Unix 8 NFS server is a much faster and more powerful machine than the old 5.0.5 nfs server. Could it be that the new NFS server uses vxfs filesystems and the build server does not have that capability ? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
