We did a scan on our network about the ports currently open within our routers/switches using a linux machine. We found out ports like echo, discard, daytime, chargen open and would really appreciate if someone can give us a hand in the commands used to close these ports.

Hope someone helps.

Regards

Tuks, you need to turn off small-servers for both TCP and UDP - from within global config mode: "no service tcp-small-servers" and "no service udp-small-servers"

Hope this helps,
Paul

Thanks pmkincaid. It works. One more question. Do you know a site or a document where I can get hold of information on ports and its importance

Thanks for your help
