I just used it for some small private Projects I made. (At work we use VS 2003) I think its a pretty good environment for private purposes if you dont want to spend a lot of money on an environment.
It does have some bugs, especially in creating GUIS graphically, but If you are unsatisfied with it, you could always join the TEAM. I mean thats what open source is about.
