Our company intranet is sharepoint enabled, which is under SBS server, My question is, is that possible to open some of the portals to certain users, who are our company domain user (could be anyone). is this possible? if yes, how can I configure the portal(s)?

Hello,

If you want to open up your portal for external users (i.e non company employees), you will most likely need the SharePoint External Connector license (which is very costly!). Microsoft has released documentation on how setting up SharePoint as an extranet using a proxy. it might be useful to look into that. Documents are available at microsoft.com

There are a lot of things to think about when you want to open up for external users, especially if you want them to access things from the internet, the documents from Microsoft does only list setting sharepoint up as an extranet with the Microsoft ISA Server, but it might be good to check that documentation out, which will give you an idea on how you can do it. You can download that documentation at
Cheers,
Thomas
