Hello All,
I recently purchased Sans Digital TR8M-B( I wanted to practice ZFS and Veritas Storage with this unit. This tower RAID came with a two port eSATA PCIe RAID controller (Silicon Image Sil3132 : SATA II port multiplier technology). However, Solaris x86 or OpenSolaris is unable to see all the disk on the array.
It looks like Solaris does not support this RAID controller. It was only able to see two disk, which leads me to believe that Solaris does not support multiporting on this controller. Can anyone please recommend an affordable pci-e esata RAID controller? I found a few online that is supported, but they are way out of my budget. This unit is for home use and sharpening my skills w/ ZFS and Veritas Storage.
Thank you,
