Hi all :)

My name is Raoul and im not very familiar with the Unix world :)

My question is:

I've an hard drive (jumper is set to master) on secondary ide of mother board.

SO on this machine is SCO Open Server 5.0.7

The hard drive contain data and is formatted as fat32.

Is there a way to mount that drive ?

Looking around i've found some solutions but none was good, for example:

mount /dev/rhd10 /mnt/somedir

mkdev hd exit with:

Ctrl Num 0, Drive 1: No such device

typing hwconfig it seems to identify the drive:

name=disk base=0x170 offset=0x7 vec=15 dma=- type=W1 cyls=4866 hds=255 secs=63

Thank you all in advance :)

RaouL.

Hi, Raoul.

SCO Unix 5.0.7 does not have fat32 drivers. You can mount DOS file systems but not fat32.

Your best bet would be to mount the fat32 drive in a windows machine on the same sub-net and use FTP to transfer any files you need (be sure to use the binary option before starting any transfers).

More elaborate would be to install SAMBA for SCO or NFS mount the win32 drive after moving the drive to a windows machine (install the Windows Unix utilities to use NFS

What are you trying to do?
