background: Server running w2k server with 2 nic cards..no active directry installed, routing and remote access installed and running.. connected to hub abd to cable modem....all working o.k....see the net from Solaris server as well as windows 95 and nt 4.0 workstation.
Problem: I am running a Video programs that is set, internal, to pump out video on port 4020. When I check the web page to see if I am transmitting....I am not. I run a port scan to see if video is coming out on 4020 it shows I am not...just looping back on 127.0
So, I read microsoft's help about ip ports and it says something about ports on the mmc console..la.la.....there is no ports listed on the mmc console for routing and remote access...mmm...mm. me thinks I will remove routing and remote access and start all over (maybe I missed something) I goto start->.........routing and remote access...right click on the server name and it tells me I don't have rights!! (logged in as admin) and gives a window with a messge about svchost.exe application error ! I click o.k and the routing and remote access closes.
First any ideas on what in the sam hill is going on ??? Second..how do I enabled outbound ports ??
Thanks for any ideas or suggestions
