Hi!
I have made a port scan on the outside of my PIX 515E. Some ports, for example
|___ 81 HOSTS2 Name Server

|___ 82 XFER Utility

|___ 83 MIT ML Device

|___ 110 Post Office Protocol - Version 3

|___ 119 Network News Transfer Protocol

are open according to the scan utility (SuperScan). As far as I can see, there is no rule that indicates that the outside interface should listen to the above-mentioned ports. Anyone know what the problem could be?

The scanning utility is the problem here, use nmap for reliable results.

Of course if you have statics and acls allowing this that would be why.

Thanx Jan. The result of nmap was completely different from the first scan.
