Recently, I receives a PB project which was developed by PB3. When I try to open some windows in this project by PB5, the following error is found:

Open of Window XYZ failed. Possible causes:
1. Object does not exist
2. Its ancestor has been deleted.
3. An object it references has been deleted
4. Object was created in a newer version of PB

I am a beginner of PB. Could anybody help me? Thanks!

Sounds like you need to regenerate the entire project. As I recall in PB5 you might need to do this several (3-4) times in a row to get everything to 'really' regenerate.

Have you "migrated" your app from PowerBuilder 3 to PowerBuilder 5 "attaching" all the libraries? This updates their file-system. You may have to get the library-list from your old app and apply it in the same order if you have any duplicate objects across libraries.
