Open new box / grab variable / pass back to parent page / close box.

Need an example of how to do this. I have a web page that is opening into a new window and I need to have that window be closed and passed a variable back to the parent page's dialog box. Can someone show me an example of this.

check out the "window.opener" object.

this object allows you to pass data from the popup to the parent page.

Note:
Both the parent and child must be from the same site...
