I have an Access database that I would like to write queries in. However, the database is read only to the people who do the data input. I know there is a simple shortcut to get to the database window but F11 doesn't work. I am sure the person who created the mdb put in a shortcut to open the database window (he said I can write queries if I want) but I'm at a loss. I person who wrote the database isn't available to ask . . . Any ideas?

Thanks!

Maybe try holding the shift key when you open the database, and then using F11.

Hope this helps,

Alex

I can't compete with you physically, and you're no match for my brains.
You're that smart?
Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?
Yes.
Morons!

Have you tried holding down the Shift key then double click the database file name?

Thanks - holding the shift-key and opening from the windows explorer worked.

Sorry about the double post. I showed my coworker my post & she thought I put my question in the wrong forum so I posted again.

Again, thank you both for answering!

Thanks!
