I am helping someone with an old database that was originally created using Access 97

I has in the distant past been upgraded to 2000 but a certain form will not now open, not by clicking, not by opening in design view or anything.

I have compacted and repaired the databse, no luck

I have tried converting it back to Access 97 but it just quits with an error half way through the conversion.

Any help as to how I can open this form ?

TIA

Try renaming the form.

There might also be some code clash, since Access 97 VBA is not 100% identical to Acc 2000 VBA, mostly because of different references.

If it still does not work, open any form in design view and then open VB-Editor (Alt+F11). Check if the faulty form appears in the left pane and try opening its code.

Hmm - perhaps it's a security problem. If the Access 97 db was connected to a workgroup, then you have to take another way:

Now open your old Acc 97 DB and export all forms to the db.

Open Acces 2k and convert that new db.

You might encounter problems like ("The event OnClick has caused errors..." or "...Network connection may have been lost".

In that case refer to my FAQ: faq705-4683

Hope this helps,
