Open Form crashes

I have a form with multiple tabs (frmProcess). The first tab has a combobox where the user can select the customer to create a new record.

There are about 100 records. If a record needs to be edited, I want the user to be able to see all records (sorted alpha then by record creation date) and select the one to edit -- that "drives" the Select queries for the other tabs.

What I have used in the past is a separate continuous form (frmAllProcessRecords) that lists all the records -- which opens first from the Switchboard. Beside each record on this form is a "open form" button that Opens frmProcess matching the ID on this continous form with the ID in frmProcess.

This type of setup has worked well for me in the past. Here, however, frmProcess opens and then immediately crashes Access. (frmProcess uses 2 fields on several of the tabs to limit the query -- the underlying customer number and an AsOfDate (the maximum date for a different set of related records). I think the crash is the result of the sequence of Events that occur such that 1 or more tab(s) are trying to "open" before the queried data is available. (I am way out of my league here.)

So....the question...

Any idea why this fails?

And, how can I get a list of records from which the user can select a specific record to work on -- given that I'm using a multi-tabbed form?

thanks.
