Open Files

On AIX I am trying to find which files are opened by a user or read by a user / application. I tried fuser, but it did not give me the information I was looking for.

lsof is not part of AIX system, and due to security restriction, I am unable to install anything off the internet.

I'm not at an AIX box right now, but could you use truss?

you can get lsof from the IBM web site. They endorse it in their redbooks. It might even be on their cd's the bonus ones or Linux add ons

You can install lsof***.rpm from the LINUX Toolkit CD, which is delivered with your original AIX-CDs.
