Hi all, have a strange problem with a user.
Using Office XP like a few other people, none of whom have this problem.
If they are in Word or Excel for example and choose the open file option, they get the standard window. If they then choose the "Look In:" scroll the application locks for approx 30 seconds before displaying the list of drives and mapped drives.
This doesn't happen if they do a similar thing from windows, only in Office.
I tried repairing the installation, reinstalling, but that didn't do it.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Do they have a large amount of partitions or mapped drives? I've found the more someone has, the longer it takes the system to verify them all, and the longer it takes the list to pop down. A slow to spin up CD-ROM, or possibly even a floppy/cd-rom about to go bad could be causing the delay. You said it doesn't slow down like that when you open, say, My Computer on the desktop though?
