This is a error message that i am getting while trying to backup a job with the open file option:

OFO: Static file on device running OFO has grown to maximum size (2000 MB) and cannot be incremented anymore.
To increase the minimum and maximum size, use the OFO Wizard on the Tools menu.
Optimum settings for your system will vary.
The static file was filling up at a rate of 9837KB per minute.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Mike

There's an article on the Veritas knowledge base that lets you calculate how big a static file size you need to configure -
Also - look out, if you have the static volume on the same drive as you're trying to back up, it won't increment past its initial size.

Weakpun,
Thats interesting about the static volume not growing any bigger.

I have client who uses v8.6 rel.3838 on Win2K +Exch2K and has Exch and OFO options. They back up around 7GB of data but it cannot verify and gives a CRC error almost immediatly the verify starts.
Of course tapes, drive (Onstream ADR50) and cables / termination have all been replaced & checked with no problems and a re-install on a seperate clean HDD works OK without OFO selected.
Using Veritas driver for the tape drive h/w too!
Question is have you seen anything like this related to a bad or malfunctioning static volume in your experience?
