Hello fellow-techs!

Let me get right down to the question. Is there such a thing as an OPEN FILE agent or a SQL command setting that will allow Veritas BE 8.5 to back up SQL files that are open??

Thank you in advance for any info!

Hi

If you are already using Backup Exec,NT/2000 Server Edition, you need Backup Exec,NT/2000, Microsoft SQL Agent(~$800)to backup your SQL server.I think you also need Backup Exec,NT/2000,Open File Option(~$700).You will have to check out if you need both the agents or just the SQL agent to backup open files.

thanks, I thought there might be a cheaper solution but I guess not. I was under the assumption that SQL inself would contain a open file command that would allow a backup solution to back it up while having files open..

Thank you!
