Hi All,
Is there an easy way of finding out who has a container login script open in Netware?
We are running a mix of Netware 5.1 SP7 / SP8 and I get an error when trying to edit a container login script - I am assuming one or more of our users still have the login script open. There are a number of pauses in the scripts to enable users to read "valuable" information.

Thanks in advance

Dave

The script files are stored in SYS:_NETWARE, but there isn't really anything to identify them as script files.

The way you can tell though, is that if you do a open file check, you will see that certain users have files open that are in the SYS:_NETWARE folder. These files DO report as open, even though they are otherwise hidden.

You'll need to use a utility like Onsite Admin Pro (old).. or you should be able to do a Volume - Open Files check in Remote Manager (Portal) at
Note that you may have to do this on every server that holds a replica of that partition/container. They could be attaching and reading the script from any of the servers in the replica list.

I would remove the pauses from your login script. Depending on what the "valuable" information is, I am sure that there are other ways of doing this without the need for pauses in your login script (eg in the case of a Legal Disclaimer, you can set the workstations up so that a legal disclaimer appears as soon as they press Ctrl-Alt-Del to login)
