Open Access database from Excel without hyperlink

I'm new at this programming. I need to 1.From a form button in Excel, 2. Open an Access database, 3. Close the Excel workbook (I know step 3).

I'm accomplishing it now by having the form button take you to a spot on the spreadsheet where I have a hyperlink placed. VERY ELEMENTARY!! I know there's a better way.

Thanks for your input and remember I'M NEW AT THIS STUFF
