database 1 is a PC inventory database
database 2 is a software database

when you selct a PC from the inventory i want a link that will show all the software that is installed on that PC. This is in the 2nd database

You cannot change a view selection formula dynamically. Since R4, you can no longer base a selection formula on a variable.

What you could do is use an Embedded view (if you are using R5 or better) in your form, check your Designer Help to see how to do that and what the advantages are.

Pascal.

thanks for that :)

ill try it out
