i am running freebsd and i just set up my firewall (ipfilters) how would i open a port for pop3

Its been a while since ive used ipf but i believe this will allow what you want.

pass in proto tcp from any to any port = 110

This one also comes to mind
pass in proto tcp from any to any port = 110 keep state
