Hello,

I need help to open a csv file look for a field, say field4 then update that row on all rows, can anyone help

Have you considered using the FileSystemObject together with built-in fuctions like Replace?

Also, the ADO text driver is good for searching text files but I believe it is read-only.

That would be great, any examples?

You could also open the CSV file as an ADO recordset, in which case you could just run an SQL UPDATE on it. A quick search here brings up this thread;

I can tell you want I want to do, I want to update 3 columns on any number of rows to the amount of files in a folder and thus adding the title to these 3 columns? I have the asp for collecting the files but not the spreadsheet
