open a bck file on a mac?

Hi :)

This might be a stupid question but i need to open a .bck file and i dont have an open vms install. Is there any way to open a .bck file without installing open vms, either through windows, mac or ubuntu?

Please i really don't want to install an os for opening a file...

It's a database backup.
