part 1

I have installed an Option 11 PBX with MerMail EC card, the software versions are 24.24 and 12.14, respectively. The situation has come up where the customer does not want operator revert afterhours on any mailboxes. But how do you configure a box with time-of-day controls? Also the system has no console and the operator function is a pair of DNs in hunt assigned to two analog ports with line appearances on the appropriate sets. I have warned the customer that I might have to double up mailboxes, one for day and one for nite, they don't seems to have a problem with it. What workarounds or fixes do are there? Can you help me?

part 2

There seems to be problem with MWI lamp on one the sets(3904) as follows: messages are played and saved. But the MWI indicator either goes out and comes back on or stays on for the primary DN. There are six other boxes that MWI to this set. I have not had this happen when I have tested previously, but the customer is emphatic that it is the prim DN somehow. Any suggestions on what to check? I am clueless!

part 3

I have a problem with disconnect supervision on LOOP-START trunks. Has there been any change in software or configuration where the COT or RDB can be programmed to recognize 'OPEN LOOP INTERVAL' from digital CO switches. The 'OPEN LOOP INTERVAL' time is anywhere from 600ms to 1 second depending on CO switch, ie DMS100, 5ESS, GTD5, DCO. When callers leave a message in voicemail and hangup the line does not release up to two or three minutes, so the line is busiedout. Any ideas other than converting to Ground-Start?

Thanks in advance for any help!

1) you cannot change revert dn by time of day. You could setup different menus, announcements, or mailboxes by time of day.

2) use the xmwk xxxx key assignment for additional mailbox's for a given set. When you have more than one mailbox assigned to a set - each mailbox will turn on/off the lamp whether there are still voice messages in another box or not.

3) Change your trunks to ground start, you will still not get disconnect supervision but you will get a possitive disconnect.

part 1

Thanks for your response, Reusser, but I can you elaborate on how I would setup an MB(s) on time-of-day controller(s). I tried one setup already but it would only select the MB of the matching DN, ie: sta.300, vmb 300. the off-hrs vmb 350. I used EM to send the call to MerMail, but it would not go to vmb 350! Can a DN have a vmb that does not match the DN?

part 2

I did not know you could put more than one MWK assignment on a set! How would that work and how would the vmb get connected to know which MWK to lite? The set is a 3904.

Regards,
Jim

1) You first need to draw your self a map and then work backwards from the map - for example:

-->caller dials 206-555-2222-->call goes to vmail 5555

-->VMail VSDN 5555 sends call to TOD 1000-->

day call goes menu 1001
night/holiday call goes to annc 1002

Menu 1001 says please hold and sends call to console
annc 1002 says we're close call back tomorrow

The menu could send calls to a mailbox (any number), phone, pager, annoucement, allow dial by ext or name. Holidays could be a seperate menu or announcement and can be predefined.

2)xmwk is the feature. you can find it in your feature book under "Message Waiting Indicator by Directory Number"
