I deleted an image earlier when emptying my recycle bin but now find I need it. My understanding of deletion is that the data is still on your PC but is flagged ok to over written by new data. this data is not actually deleted until more data is added to your PC thus overwriting deleted data.
If my understanding is correct my file could be recoverable? Does anyone know how to recover this file or is my understanding of deletion misguided??

Thanks in advance.

Paul

You are correct in the fact the data is still there until covered up by something else. I used to have some software that would read all data on a hd, but i cant remember what it is, i will try to find it and let you know, in the meantime you might run a search for data recovery, i would recommend dogpile.com very fast and thorough search engine. good luck. let us know how it comes out.
