OOo open .doc files and save to them?

Hi there, I'm new to oo.org and would like to try it out. I have a large number of word files that I would like to use and I'd like to know if oo.org can open a .doc file and save back to the .doc format. If that can be done, how well would an oo.org saved doc file open in MS word?

eg: If I saved a .doc file in oo.org, can someone with MS Word open it up alright?

OOo does a very good job of both opening .doc files, and saving them in the correct format. However, as far as I know macros will not be converted, and there might be problems with advanced formatting.

That's no biggie, macros don't matter and it's pretty basic stuff for the most part.

Can you save a file created in OOo.org as a doc?
