Ontape Backup Problem

When I try ontape backup using "ontape -s -L 0" or "ontape -s -L 1"

I am getting following error.

shmat: [12]: operating system error

Server is in an incompatible state or user authentication failed.

Program over.

The Informix version is "IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40.FC2"

Operating System: "Tru64-UNIX Version 5.1A"

If I reboot the UNIX server the backup works.
