ONTAPE & ONBAR backup utilities

Does the ontape & onbar backup utilities supports any tape devices for
backup purposes, as long as the operating system supports the device?

If I have a new tape drive (eg. the new LTO drive) installed on my server,
can the ontape and onbar utility make use of it to backup the Informix
database?

Does it make any difference what version/release of the ontape/onbar
utilities I have?

Appreciate if anyone can advise.
