Hi,

When running onstat -d from the informix account it fails with the error "Shared memory - permission denied". However the root account can run onstat -d successfully.

The informix user has rights to the raw disk that the db resides on, but I am unsure where to look to check the user permissions required to view the shared memory.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi:

Check the permissions on your onstat command in $INFORMIXDIR/bin. It should look similar to:

-rwxr-sr-x 1 informix informix 3551232 Oct 11 1999 onstat

regards,

Ed
