Single line extension on Mitel El when called rings once or twice and then drops call. I have changed the card and that has not made a differance. This problem can be duplicated right from the block. So it's not a cable issue. Has anyone dealt with a similar problem?

Ring trip is almost always caused by a bad relay on the card. How certain are you that you replaced the right one?

I'm 100% certain it's the right card.

The probability that it is something other than the card is so low as to impede my ability to speculate. I don't think I can help. good luck.

Have seen this happen when 2 ons ports are inadvertantly connected together but you mention that port is open at the block / frame, weird...

Try disconnecting at the chassis interface if possible that will rule out the cabling to the block and call DN again

Aslo, do you get dial tone when line is looped and ability to call out on the analog plid?

good luck

My thought if the card was replaced would be it would be either in the back plane of the cabinet or in the cable from the back of the cabinet to the MDF. Pull the cable off the cabinet and test. If still ring trip then replace the cabinet.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Try moving that extension to a different PLID if possible. This will elimante the 25 pair cable, the port in question and the block wiring.
