Hey,
I am pretty familiar with programming the mitel sx-200 icp. I can't remember what model it is cause they changed them I think but its the first one I think its the CX. I have a perpherial cabinet with 4 ons cards and 1 dnic card. I have the caller id working properly on the dnic card but it doesn't work on the ons cards nor does the message waiting light if the phone has one. Does anyone know the procedures to make these work or what COS options to turn on? Thanks.

Matthew

and yes i forgot to mention they are CLASS cards

Both the Caller ID and the Message waiting light option will be found in the COS options you assign for each set type.

Message waiting-: Option 232-Message waiting setup-Lamp

Caller ID-: Option 502-Display ANI/DNIS/CLASS information or Option 503-Display CLASS Name & Option 505-ONS Stations support CLASS.

If the caller ID still does not work, try enabling/disabling different combinations of COS options that say ANI, DNIS, or CLASS. You'll find something that works!

By the way...

The 200 ICP CX is a stand alone unit that has a built in 16 port Power over Ethernet Layer 2 Switch. It does not support Per Nodes and is mainly used for the new ip sets. Although, there is built in ONS and Analog Trunk ports on it.

The 200 ICP MX is the original unit that does support Per Nodes.

Also I believe you need a BCC3 in the per with a DSP card to get the ONS/Class to work. I know that Mitel has had some issues with BCC3's in the icp pers and advised them to be removed. Don't know if that has been resolved. As for the MW light. after you turn it "on" you should be able to monitor the line with a butt set and hear the voltage trip. If you don't you have missed a setting in your programming. If you do hear the voltage, your set may not have a compatible message light.

thanks for you help guys but first of all i don't know what a bcc3 is or a dsp card or a butt set. and what is MW light. and i know that the analog phones red light lights up when the phone is ringing. and I don't see why it wouldn't work on a sx200icp because in the tech docs it says that the msg waiting light only doesn't work on the embeded ons circuits so i would assume that it would in the bay. but i'm not at the office now but i will check and see if i have the correct COS options on and let you know.

ooh do u mean bay control card because i think there is a bay control card already in there. but i don't know what the 3 stands for

ok I checked and already had all of those COS options enabled and still no lights or caller id. any other ideas? caller id should be able to work on any analog phone if run through ONS Class card correct?

do i need to enabled the msg waiting lamp and or caller id COS opts in the Trunk COS or the ONS COS?

I found out why the Caller ID doesn't work. Our dealer said you need to enable system option number 89 - ONS cards support CLASS functionality. He also said the license from Mitel is about $ 800! what a rip off. As far as the MSG light he didn't say whether that would also need to be on for it to work so I don't know.
