i'm new to flash so excuse the lameness

i made a movie clip that scrolls a group of objects along the screen for ever.

now i want to zoom in and out this permanent scrolling as an instance of mouse movement along, say, y axis.

i mean i move mouse up and the image zooms in, and backwards

i opened the action dialog but on mouse event is inactive.

it is posibble what i want? and if is so , where am i wrong?

thanks in advance

hi lucki

i got your e-mail, and I suggest you do a search for a thread with the words GALLERY or SCROLL. It's something I posted a few weeks ago and suits your left/right scroll situation.

Regarding the fla's you sent me, your first one doesn't scroll forever as you say, it just tweens a menu from right to left (as well as the gap after it) and then the movie loops, so I'd take note of the aforementioned thread and forget your first idea.

As far as a tutorial, as you on requested, on this subject goes I'm afraid I do not have the time to explain advanced actionscripting to someone who is new to flash. I suggest you start reading, starting with the FlashHelp section, as well as breaking apart the examples they give and any flas that find themselves posted in this forum. THAT is the best way to learn flash. DIY and testing on your own, trying to find solutions/alternatives and learning the adaptations.

One misconception by people who are new to flash is that the only actions in a flash movie are within the main-timeline and that to use actions in a movie-clip you require a graphic too. So if you have difficulty with any of my flas or anyone elses, take a closer look, the way to do it is often encapsulated in a controller movie-clip which you cant see on the main stage unless you Select all and look for it.

dave

ps: Old knows my posts by now and is right about the extension. For future reference, if I post an HTML link to something I have built for someone I always post the link to the fla after it. dave@davdesign.co.uk

Virt... You're so naive!

When the html link is in the address bar, just backspace and type in .fla instead of .html!
