We are running Crystal Enterprise 10 and Crystal Reports 11. We have a report scheduled to run and send out e-mails daily at a specific time. Is there a way to tell Enterprise to only send an e-mail if X is true in the report?

If you have "Alerts" set-up in your individual Report Objects in CE-10 or BO-XI, then you can turn on "Alerting Notification".

This will send an e-mail to people to alert them to look at the report in ePortfolio/WebDesktop/InfoView...it will NOT attach a PDF or EXCEL of the report to the e-mail like the SMTP destinations do, but it's a start.

You might want to check out the APOS Bursting Manager tool, if you are interested in a 3rd party add-on.

You can have Reports and Enterprise versions out of sync now? I didn't know that.

You can't conditionally email from Enterprise. You could look into some alternative solutions from APOS, as previously suggested.

I achieve this by combining Windows Scheduler with Crystal Enterprise. The process involved is:

Create a batch job to call a script which replicates the reports SQL. If X is true, create a txt file on the network.

Create an event, set to minimal polls, on CE triggered by the above file.

Create a recurring instance based on the above event, set to email output to the distribution list.

Create a batch job to delete the text file on the network at 5 or 10 minute intervals.
