Only prints 1/8th of job? lj8000 11x17

Well this is an odd one... we are trying to print out pictures from our digital camera out on our Laserjet 8000 on 11x17 bond. Everything is configured right and the driver is the latest and greatest just downloaded from the web.

Has anyone seen this before?

It seems as though the rest of the drawing is squeezed up at the top in that single line... but that first 1/8 is perfect ;]

Here's a picture so you can see what I mean...
so far I've only seen this in this specific situation...
every other size/configuration works...


any help is much appreciated!
