only com1 shows in device mngr when XP Pro installed

I used XP home edition with no problem, until I installed XP Pro instead. Now my netscape dialer doesn't recognize my modem (Lucent/agere 90109) which is shown in device manager on COM3 and queries successfully and has the up to date driver. My device manager only shows COM1 and my printer port though, even though I am using a voodoo card in pci2 and a soundblaster in pci1 both successfully. Also I uninstalled my hotsync, since that grabs COM1.

-Can anyone help me? I need to somehow get my ports to show up, or possibly change the IRQ settings maybe? but I don't have a manual for my modem to know what they should be. P.S. my modem is signed and on the windows XP HCL

Did you try inserting the modem in a different slot?

Have you tried the XP forum? If it worked in XP Home and does not now it is software related.

COMM 3 won't show up in Device Manager. That is normal. COMM 3 is actually your modem. It should show up in Modem Properties under Device Manager.

thanks for inputs, I finally found I had to use regedit to delete a couple of subfolders in my rasman service folder:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\25

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\26
