I an running a laptop and connecting to an ISP through the built in modem. The systems connects fine, how ever IE6 will not browse when i enter the URL. It displays the error "page cannot be displayed". However if i enter the IP address of the URL the site appears fine.

The OS is Windows XP (i've tried installing SP1 but not difference).

Any help would be appreciated

Is the DNS servers correct in your TCP/IP properties in your dialer?

If they are TCP/IP itself might be an issue. two solutions for this one... 1. Re-create the dialer and 2. refresh TCP/IP.. this is done by issuing the command

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

from a DOS command prompt...

I solved it, i changed the ISP and now everthing works. I was using freeserver pay as you go.
