I send data to a new Excel spreadsheet.
I would like to prevent wholesale changes to the spreadsheet by:
* preventing column / row deletions / additions
* only allowing certain ranges of cells to be edited.

how can I accomplish this?

Many thanks in advance

I'm not sure this is an Access question other than you can use automation (VBA code in Access) to modify properties and values in an Excel file. I typically record a macro in Excel and then copy and paste the code into Access. You might need to make a few changes to get it to work correctly.

Right off, I'm biased toward Excel.

If it were me, I'd be pulling the data into an Excel previously structured sheet from any external source. I'm typically drawing data from multiple data sources into Excel.

When you state you're sending data to a "new Excel spreadsheet" it raises a couple of questions:

1. By "new Excel spreadsheet" do you mean a new workbook or a new worksheet?

2. Why a new whatever? Why not an append to existing data. In other words, what's the purpose of the data in Excel?
