We have been trying to implement VOIP for some remote extensions. Took a phone home and hooked it up. At home I have a D-Link router, but I put the phone on the DMZ Interface and tried it. I get connected, but I only have 1 way. I can hear them, they can't hear me. On the office side I have a Firebox 700 with a one-to-one NAT setup. I cant see anything being blocked but I just can't get it to work.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

What Protocol are you using?

If using SIp you'll need to make sur that SIp & RTP is allowed through both ways. You may also have to set up STUN as you are NAT'ing

As far as I can tell, nothing is being blocked. I have everything being logged by the firewall, and havn't seen any denies. The one weird thing is that I don't see any incoming packets, so I'm guessing they are getting lost somewhere before the firewall.

The protocols listed in the manual are RTP, MGCP, maintenance so I don't believe SIP is used. I really don't know anything about using STUN... Does my Firewall have to support it?

Make sure you have routes setup pointing back to the phone. I've seen the before and corrected it by having either the firewall opened up and static routes in the router.

Well I got this solved. I set up an IPSec VPN connection and the phone is working now.

Thanks for your help and suggestions....
