Online resources for Approach/123? 1

I am working on getting some reporting done on a computer that only has SmartSuite loaded. I need to learn the features of either/or Approach and 123 to get the job done; what I would like is a few examples of Approach databases or 123 spreadsheets. Other online resources would be helpful as well. I searched Google but the site list looks to be very slim, and if anyone knows of even one solid site, that would be great.

I don't know the program version off of the top of my head, but the computer was purchased a year ago, so it should be the newest.


I am (very) well versed in MS Access but need to know how to do the similar things I have done in Access and find their equivalent or workaround in Approach. An example database would do this nicely; an online tutorial would be great as well.

The best site for SmartSuite resources is

You need to register (free) and login to access the discussion folders. There are resident "xperts" to answer questions and a "tips & techniques" section under FAQS. There's a Free Downloads section containing many Approach samples.

There's also the Approach Users Mailing List at

In addition to the mailing list, the web site has several sample databases.

Approach ships with a set of SmartMasters (database templates). You can create new databases from the SmartMasters and study the design.
