online/offline backup verification 2

Is there any utility that can be used to verify that an online/offline backup completed successfuly to tape? Also is there any way to tell the database that was backed up and a date stamp?

Looking for a way so I can scan some offsite tapes that they forgot to document....

Have a look at the db2ckbkp command ...

For Unix tape Devices

db2ckbkp -h /dev/rmt0
