online backup while /tmp full

Hi all!

One question very quick. Does the fact that /tmp is full affect directly the duration of an online backup to TSM?

One of my backups has needed 8 hours with /tmp full and it normally need only 2 hours. Is this the reason or do I have to look for another one?
