Hello,

I have bumped into this problem that my database can not be accessed by ASP, when the file is already open in Microsoft Access or a locally running Visual Basic application that I have designed.

Is there any way around this or can I just as well give up?

Thanks in advance,

Fedor Steeman

Setting the database to Shared should sort that problem.
In Office XP Access this is under Tools/Options, Advanced tab and click the Shared radio button. Think its the same for earlier versions Saturday 12.00

Thanks, but the problem is that the database is set to be shared! Hence my confusion. Can you please help?

No wait! No, it seems to work now! Mysterious.... Maybe the settings needed to be updated or something...
