Oninit problem startup

hi all,

Trying to start oninit and getting the following error ..


ITMILX01-INFORMIX /user/infxol7.31> oninit


Cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG.


Any suggest ?

The environment vars are not set correctly for Informix

cd $INFORMIXDIR

ITMILX01-INFORMIX /user/infxol7.31

Is correct ?

I have
INFORMIXDIR=/u/informix
INFORMIXSERVER=server
but different versions have different requirements.
You will have to look in the documents.
They are at you will although have to really look for the documentation link, not very obvious.
