Hey everyone, just signed up to this forum, looks like a lot of knowledgeable people around here. Thanks in advance for any help I can get with this problem.
A client recently sent in a micros eclipse for repair. Turns out the HDD took a dump, among other issues. the workstation was running a win95 OS. I had an available unlicensed image of win2k with all the eclipse-related software drivers and such configured. I put this image on a replacement HDD and sent it to my client. This is where the real trouble begins.
I instructed him to run netsetup to configure the eclipse with the replaced HDD to operate on his network. Somewhere along the process, it fails. Digging around in the log file revealed this:

Looks like netsetup can't find imicrosplugin.exe . My client responded that the files were there, but located under the D: drive. We tried copying the file and all the other related files to the D: drive and re-ran netsetup but got the same error.
Then, we tried using CAL to circumvent the netsetup process. CAL would see the micros server, but wouldn't display any workstation IDs to choose. Copied the MDSHosts.xml file from the server to the workstation, as they had a few differences, but that still didn't fix the problem.
Then, we updated his CAL client on the workstation to the most recent available version (3.1.2.49). still no luck. then I found out that because his server is running RES 3.2 SP6 hf3 Build 3.2.79.1305, netsetup is the only way to get his win2k eclipse workstation configured. Also, when he boots the eclipse, it will auto-run CAL, attempt to load POS operations, and gives the message:
nBytesRead(2250)!=nBytesExpected(2370)uring Call to MDRESDBS->DbRead UWS ParmFile ()
This could be due to a version mismatch
I believe this is because the eclipse is actually running a more recent version of RES - 3.2 SP7 hf5. Maybe this is causing most of our problems.
One other relevant detail - this is the only eclipse on my client's network. the other workstations are all WS4. I know the workstation ID assigned to the eclipse is configured correctly in the MDSHosts.xml file, but I'm not sure if there are any other variables to consider elsewhere.
At any rate, I need help getting netsetup to run successfully on this eclipse workstation. I've spent a lot of time on this and I am just about out of ideas. Sorry for the long 1st post, I'm just trying to get relevant info out there so somebody can provide some accurate advice. Thanks in advance for your help!
