I have 8730s running CM5.2 We are rolling out Windows7 to our employees and our current version of IP agent (R6) and IP softphone (R5) don't work on it unless you use XP mode. My 3rd party rep gave me a quote for One-x agent R2 and said it would work on Windows7 to replace both IP agent and IP softphone.

Is that the product I need to be using for both IP agent and Ip softphone users?

IP SoftPhone is replaced by Avaya One-X Communicator.
IP Agent is replaced by Avaya One-X Agent R2 (IP Agent V9).

One-X Communicator and one-X Agent R2 will both work on Windows7 64-bit machines.

You need to be cautious and talk to your Business Partner when looking at one-X Agent about the requirement to upgrade all licenses to one-X Agent. Otherwise you might find yourself in a bind with agents unable to log in.

One-X Communicator should be an entitlement (assuming you are enterprise edition) you can download and start using. If you look at the system-parameter customer-options next to last page you should see the one-X Communicator licenses (assuming your Business Partner loaded them).
