Quick question

I have OneX Mobile preferred loaded on 83 android cell phones all connected to a IP Office V2 Rel 10.1 Preferred Edition with an Avaya UC Server.

I also have 35 9508 sets on the system. Each OneX Mobile device has its own extension number with a Power User License assigned.

I am trying to twin 10 of the 9508 sets to 10 of the OneX Mobile devices. However, it seems that you cannot twin to a device which is a simultaneous mode phone.

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

I was thinking of creating a hunt group to do this.

Can't you use internal twinning to the 'virtual' mobile user?

The reason you can't twin to a simultaneous mode phone is that it is already effectively twinned. The same user can be logged in on the 9508 and one-X Mobile at the same time.

Hi sizbut

So does that mean I would move the Power user license from the dedicated mobile user extension number to the desk set user extension number? And now the two sets would have the same extension number meaning that I could not dial the mobile device directly?

I currently only have one-X Communicator to play with but both Communicator and Mobile are listed as simultaneous client.

Just tested it. I was able to register Communicator using the details of a user who is already a 9641 user. Then made and answered calls using both.

Can be odd, like to transfer a call from my deskphone to the mobile one I had to transfer to my own extension number! - but it worked.

If you have an SCN I think there are limitations such as the simultaneous client has to register to the same IP Office as holds the user record. With the way one-X Mobile works that may mean you can only use it will users on the primary IP Office connected to the one-X Portal. Sorry I don't have one-X Mobile to try that.

...half a test. I installed one-X Mobile for IP Office on an Android tablet. Again it let me register using my users details without affecting the operation of their 9641. Unfortunately the tablet doesn't have a mobile number so whilst I got call logs and voicemail messages etc I could go the whole hog. But certainly worth your testingwhat happen if you reconfig you system a little (probably just have to hot desk one of your one-X Mobile users onto a deskphone and see what happens).

Thanks for your information. I will play with it as well and let you know

A user configured for one-x mobile/communicator will always be able to use a desk phone as this is the standard setup for it. If you are logged into the desk phone, one-x mobile and communicator all at the same time and you receive a call, all will ring and you can answer on any.

As for one-x mobile in an SCN it is completely possible to have the users programmed at any of the SCN sites and be able to use one-x mobile, it just requires the correct setup on each system to allow the mutli-site to work with one-x mobile. For example I have an SCN with a system in London and one in DC. The App server is in London and currently only users in DC have one-x mobile usage.
