Is there any way for the portal user to self administer their passwords?

RockCatDaddy

Any ideas on simple password management? I'm sure others have had the same issue, for instance, when I rolled out the portal I used the extn number for the password because it is easy to explain and everyone knows what theres is. However, as you probably guessed now anyone can login as anyone else and make prank calls etc. Even worse listen to their vm.

Is there not a way to use AD to manage them? Has anyone else had to deal with this? How did you handle it?

thanks for looking into it Tom, preshate it.

you might have to get old school and use a speadsheet. then email each person individually.

At least they would have a record of the password and would never need them reset.

i can't find and don't ever remember any references to users being able self admin their passwords.

sometimes the old way is the best, people tend to forget passwords when they change their own and then deny all knowledge when you find it, it would probably cause you more trouble in the long run that making up the spreadsheet :)
