Hi all.

I installed a new One-X Portal using a W2003 Server.

It seems the installation is right but the service can't start. In the log file I can see the follow error:

- ORIGIN: Service Control Manager
- ID: 7024
- The One-x Portal service for IP Office stop with the specific service error 0 (0x0).

Any ideas about this?

Does your server has the minimum requirements for ONE-X portal?
' Operating System: Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit).
• Processor: Intel Pentium D945 core or AMD Athlon 64 4000+.
• RAM Memory: 4 GB
• Available Hard Disk Space: 20 GB.
Is Java installed?
Did you turn off UAC?
Are all hot-fixes and updates installed?
Did you inspect the system logs? There must be more onfo on the error.

Yes, my server have the minimun minimum requirements and java and all hotfixes installed.

It seems the error is relationed with apache and tomcat.

See attached the screens error.

Thanks.

Any idea to solve this issue with apache?

Did you follow the manual by the book?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Sorry to be obvious but I assume that you have checked the ports being used and don't have IIS also installed on the server.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Had an issue starting service as well. Installed re-installed one-x, no resolution. Un-install all versions of Java, re-install one-x (allowing one-x install to install it's ver. of Java) one-x now working.

Thanks to SlappinTrout's post, this resolved my issue as well. I upgraded 1X Portal from 8.0 to 8.1 last night and the service would not start. I found this thread, uninstalled Java and let 1XP install it's Java and all is now working.

I have issues on my laptop with java 7 everytime an update is installed.
There is something not right with java at the moment.

If your apps work with your current level of Java, then dont update it unless you really need to.

Is there any reason this must remain on Windows 2003?
The easiest fix would be to wipe windows & install the applications server on the PC.

The Linux based options are always my 1st choice for One-x, it illuminates the Russian Roulette of Microsoft security updates breaking something (+ it is far easier to install and administer).

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I agree with IPGuru.
It is soo much easier to install and maintain and it is much more stable.
Integration between 1XP and VMPro is also done automatically.

The reason why you guys are having issues when upgrading Java is because the applications depend on Java. Therefore, you must stop the service prior to upgrading Java. Once Java is upgraded, start the service again and everything should work normal.
