I am hoping someone else is having this issue. We deployed an Avaya IP Office to a customer which wanted to have the One X Portal Outlook Plugin on their Office 2013 Outlook. We have installed this on about 40 of their employees computers and continue to have issues on when the phone rings in it goes through the speakers of the computer. It has become an annoyance on the customer side and from what I have found out there, there is only one way to turn this off and we have already done this through the One X Portal users login and in the settings. This still occurs on the plugin and there doesn't seem to be any fix or solution right now for this as far as we can tell. Unfortunately it will cost a ton to get IPOSS suopport through an Avaya partner so hoping this forum will help. Can anyone help answer or give some input on any other troubleshooting on this issue?

Thanks,

Corey

I just commented on the one earlier but we have done this for the customer and the sound still goes through. I am wondering if it is a bug in the plugin or if there is anything else that might be causing this on the computer side.
To enable sound notifications:
1. Click the Configure tab and select Telephony.
2. In the Sound Configuration section, select Disable sound notifications.
3. Click Save.

My next suspicion then would be looking at Outlook's notification settings. But you are trying to have your cake and eat it (call alerting and control on your PC but without the alerting).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Ok I will look at the Outlook notifications...I am pretty sure we did this but I will check again. Yes though having my cake and eating it should work, from what I have read this should be easy to turn off in the One X Portal settings and it is not functioning which is a flaw and the customer is unhappy. So this is why I was trying to find anyone that may have a solution versus just referencing what Avaya has publishedm, which doesn't work!

Still didn't work... We turned off all the outlook notifications and the plugin still had the ringing from the phone going through the computer. My next question would be if it has to do with something in the Windows sound file? How would I know that as the plugin is in outlook and still rings through when all notifications are turned off in outlook which I would think would now resort to Windows notifications?

We had this happen as well. In the plug in go to the User Settings and disable "Show Notification". Although it doesn't say anywhere in the documentation that this will cause the PC to ring. Disabling it stopped the ringing for us.
• Show Notification
When using Outlook, the plug-in show the user incoming calls, new voicemail messages and instant messages. However, if Outlook is minimized or not on top, the user does not see those messages. If Show Notification is enabled, additional notifications are shown in the Windows task bar.

Greg,

Can you let me know your setup? Our client has the VM Pro with using Microsoft Office 2013. I want to make sure it is not something different. I believe our tech tried that already and it is still ringing through the PC. I will check with him and get back to this forum. When you say the plugin settings you are not talking about going to the One X Portal settings and turning theat notification btton off are you? We have done that as well. Please let me know your setup and if you are talking about the settings in the actual plugin so I can compare apples to apples.

Thanks

The is set up has VM Pro with MS Office 2016. It was not in the One-X portal but the MS plug in itself. Go to the user settings in the plug in. It took me 2 weeks to realize it was ringing even if the portal was closed but the plug in was open. I then went to the plug in and that solved the issue.

Sounds good, I have done this for the customer and yes it worked but from my tech after about two weeks when he did this the first time it automatically went back to default and it was checked again? Not sure why this happened. Any Clue?
