Does it work?

We have One-X Portal installed in the subnet for servers and the clients are in the subnet for clients.
Traffic is handled by the firewall. But just routing, not blocking anything.

The client cannot connect, just stays on 'connecting...'

I would bet that you will find it is the firewall, I have used it on different subnets with no issue, only time I have seen an issue is when the client used a sonicwall to do the routing, bypassing that solved the issue even though the sonicwall was apparently set to not block anything :)

The portal itself is working. Its just the call assistant.
On the firewall only attempts to port 8080 are seen.
I must check again...

It was the firewall. Direction from client to server was open, but server to client not...

I can give you pink money, at least.
